Port Broughton Caravan Park was our first port of call when first leaving Adelaide. This was our first week of freedom travelling and it feels great. The last few weeks had been non stop and it had taken at least a few days to really relax and enjoy our surroundings.
We booked into the Port Broughton Caravan Park for the first few days of our journey so we could settle into our new life of freedom in comfort and get ourselves and the van organised. We had a couple of friends join us for the first four days and we ended up extending our stay until end of the week.
There are 2 caravan parks in Port Broughton, one seems to have more longer term permanent residents (Broughton Bayside Caravan Park) and the other the Port Broughton Caravan Park is where we stayed. It was a really nice laid back place. Very quiet, not packed to the rafters and the sites were fairly roomy. It is right on the beach and a short walk to the jetty where you can fish or go crabbing.
We went out on the windiest day of our stay and managed to catch maybe 20 or so crabs, most we through back because they were undersize but 9 of them were good enough to end up in our plates.
