Quiet Joys of Stargazing

One of my biggest quiet joys when travelling in outback areas is to go outside in the night, often to have a piss, and just gaze up at the stars.

It gives you little ripples of peace, joy, and well-being.

I thought it was just me, but I’ve found an ABC News article titled “How stargazing and looking to the night sky boosts mental health and well-being“.

For me, stargazing is a meditative experience.

So, now that’s justified my feeling and I’ll go out more to do that.

Even photos of night skies are wondrous things to behold, as well as when you’re sitting around the campfire or just wandering around at night.

However, those feelings pale into insignificance when you’re standing and looking up to the night sky and not doing anything else.

Often, after finishing a night-time piss, I stand there, relax and drink in the Milky Way; it is a lovely feeling.
