Excitement and despair in a shed
I’ve not written a blog post for some time.

I have been exhausted, overwhelmed and depressed and on occasion excited and did not feel like sharing, but I was told (very sternly) by my lovely friend Stella yesterday that I should write about the downs as well as the ups. Check out Stella & Yogi’s Juergen Freund Fine Art Gallery website here – absolutely beautiful photography.
The house in Mareeba (owned by my ex-partner, Cate) has been sold. I was exhausted from getting that ready for sale.
I have moved into a shed (owned by my good mate Scotty) 20 kms from Mareeba where I am co-habiting with my Troopy. Scotty has very kindly let me stay here and has helped heaps with the Troopy.
I have been trying to sell my Prado so I can pay for getting the Troopy ready for travel – and having no luck so far. If you know anyone wanted to buy a good reliable Prado – please let them know here or here on Gumtree

Things are progressing but slower than I am comfortable with.
The Troopy is getting closer to being registerable but I need to sell the Prado to pay for that.
My plans are to:
- get Troopy registered
- travel to Canberra with a trailer full of Zoe’s, Cate’s and Lily’s belongings. Then drop the trailer off there and …
- drive to Exmouth for the Solar eclipse on 20th April (I am cutting it a bit fine for time to make that, unfortunately)
- then wander down the Gunbarrel Highway with another friend, Claudia
My downs have come about by things that I see as out of my control – selling the Prado, worrying about getting the Prado registered and not having enough money, currently, to do these things.

Although I’m having a bit of a whine here, I am incredibly lucky: good friends who have helped me to get here; a great Troopy to travel with; and a place to stay while getting ready.
Many grateful thanks to Alan, Shane, Grace and Scotty!

That is one sexy troopy!
Thank you – yes, pretty pleased with it!
Just a bit more work, then roadworthy and rego – then Woo Hoo!
Looking forward to hearing about your travels
